Job descriptiontwentelogo
We have a vacancy for an assistant professor working in the field of ICT, data in civil engineering who is specialised in experimental fluid & sediment dynamics. In particular, the successful candidate has a good overview of measuring equipment for laboratory experiments as well as available methods to process the data that comes available in large experimental programmes. We welcome both fluvial and marine processes specialists, and we expect this assistant professor to develop a network in both fields. This is of importance because rather than owning our own experimental facilities, our strategy is to collaborate with external parties to perform experiments in facilities most suited for the specific purpose of our studies, e.g. through the EU-program Hydralab. The successful candidate will collaborate in (mostly field) data-acquisition and processing and modelling specialists in the marine and fluvial domain as well as in transport, and possibly construction applications, covering the civil engineering domain.  Here in particular, we would like make the to link to innovative data acquisition possibilities. Next, the assistant professor is capable, and willing to, keep close contacts with consultants, knowledge institutes and water authorities (both national and international) on recent developments to be able to link knowledge development and practice.
