Prof. Dano Roelvink will formally retire as Professor at IHE Delft in May 2026. To mark this occasion, colleagues are warmly invited to join an international symposium on The Future of Coastal Modelling, to be held on Thursday 7 May and Friday 8 May at Deltares and IHE Delft, the Netherlands.
The symposium will bring together experts to discuss advances and future directions in coastal science and engineering, including the interaction between full-physics coastal modelling, data-driven and AI approaches, and remote sensing. Contributions, views, and evidence shared during the symposium will be collected with the aim of producing a white paper or opinion piece for a journal.
On Friday afternoon, Prof. Roelvink will deliver his valedictory (farewell) address.
Colleagues are kindly asked to save the dates and indicate their availability for one or both days via the response form.
