NCK Excursion Griend
Wednesday, 09 September 09:00 - 17:00
Frisia, Netherlands
On 9 September 2026, NCK invites you to join a unique excursion aboard the Regina Andrea to the uninhabited Wadden Sea island of Griend.
Griend is a place where nature takes the lead. Shaped continuously by wind, waves, and tides, the island offers a rare glimpse into a dynamic and largely undisturbed coastal environment. It is an important refuge for seals and a wide variety of bird species, making it a truly special destination for anyone interested in coastal processes, ecology, and nature conservation.
The day will consist of a boat trip to the island, including an on-board presentation, followed by a guided visit to Griend itself. After landing nearby, we will walk across the tidal flats to the island, where there will be ample time to explore the landscape and experience this unique environment up close. On the return journey, there will be additional opportunities for presentations and discussion. The exact programme will be shared at a later stage.
Please note that the number of spots is limited and registration closes on 21 August, so don’t wait — secure your place now for this excursion you won’t want to miss!
Participation in NCK Theme Days is free of charge; no registration costs apply.
